Under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Comprehensive Energy Services Industry Innovation and Development Alliance hosted the China Comprehensive Energy Services Industry Summit Series of Events on the 27th in Beijing. The event aimed to build a comprehensive energy services ecosystem and accelerate the development of clean, smart energy solutions.Experts attending the summit agreed that the comprehensive energy services industry is poised to embrace new opportunities for significant growth.
This high-level summit is themed"Driving the Development of Clean,Smart Energy and Building a Comprehensive Energy Services Ecosystem."It brings together representatives from China's National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Energy Administration, and other relevant government departments, along with over 100 energy companies, internet firms, and experts from research institutions.Together, they will explore China's strategic direction for the integrated energy services industry, examining both macroeconomic policy trends and cutting-edge industry insights, ultimately aiming to foster the healthy and rapid growth of this dynamic sector.
Su Wei,Deputy Secretary-General of the National Development and Reform Commission, delivered the opening speech, stating that integrated energy services have emerged as a new business model in the energy sector over the past few years. This innovative approach combines various technological and commercial breakthroughs, primarily focusing on the electricity consumption side to leverage cutting-edge technologies and novel business models, thereby boosting the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises. It embodies the energy sector's characteristics of openness and collaboration. At the same time, integrated energy services help break down industry and technological barriers between different energy types, fostering greater efficiency and driving the development of energy market service capabilities.Overall, the integrated energy services industry boasts a promising future with vast potential for growth.
Li Ying,a first-level inspector at the Information Technology Development Department of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that China has been implementing its industrial internet development strategy since 2017.Over the past three years, the country has made significant progress in building its industrial internet infrastructure, with continuous improvements to network facilities.Currently, more than 70 platforms have emerged, demonstrating notable regional and industry-specific influence.Meanwhile, industrial applications have already been widely adopted across key sectors of the national economy, including steel, transportation, energy, and logistics.
She emphasized that the industrial internet must become a critical pillar supporting both domestic and international dual circulation, strengthening the ability to tackle various risks and challenges.Integrated energy services fully leverage the leading role of next-generation information technology, accelerating the digital transformation of the energy sector and fostering entirely new models of energy supply and consumption that enhance overall competitiveness. At its core, this is not only a modern service industry rooted in energy but also a technology-driven approach fueled by cross-sector innovation. Moreover, integrated energy services will make significant contributions to boosting societal efficiency and driving the broader process of digital transformation.
Liu Baohua,Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration, stated that integrated energy services primarily work by combining multi-energy complementarity with optimized integration on both the production and consumption sides, breaking down barriers between various energy systems such as electricity, gas, heat, and cooling. This approach not only boosts energy efficiency but also helps strengthen the modern energy system, increase the share of renewable and flexible energy sources, and ultimately drive a fundamental shift in how energy is consumed. He noted that compared to major global economies,China still lags behind in terms of both the overall level of integrated energy services and comprehensive energy efficiency. To bridge this gap,he emphasized the need for collective efforts from all stakeholders to accelerate the development of integrated energy services.
Xin Baoan,General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the State Grid Corporation of China, pointed out that with the ongoing transformation of energy systems, advancements in technology, and the continuous upgrading of system ecosystems, connections between different energy systems are becoming increasingly tight. As a result, energy services are rapidly evolving from being single-focused to offering integrated solutions—emerging as a key direction for the development of modern energy industries.Meanwhile, electric energy stands out for its clean, efficient, and easily controllable characteristics, enabling it to be swiftly converted into various forms of energy, such as cooling, heating, lighting, and power. This makes electricity the central hub and versatile platform for facilitating energy conversions across multiple sectors.Accelerating the pace of energy consumption and providing end-to-end electric-based solutions have thus become critical trends driving the advancement of integrated energy systems.
