On September 26,four 220000m3 LNG(liquefied natural gas)tanks independently designed and built by China National Offshore Oil Corporation(hereinafter referred to as CNOOC)were successfully jacked up in Yancheng,Jiangsu Province.This is the largest single tank volume LNG tank project in China,and also the largest LNG national reserve base built at one time in China,marking a new level of core construction technology of LNG tanks in China.
According to Li Feng,the site leader of CNOOC Jiangsu LNG Project,the atmospheric pressure lifting of large LNG tanks is equivalent to the roof sealing,which is the construction with the greatest technical difficulty and the highest safety factor requirements in the tank construction process.It is understood that the 220000 cubic meters of storage tank that has been lifted this time has broken the previous record of the largest volume of domestic LNG storage tank.Compared with the conventional 160000 m3 tank,the dome weight of 220000 m3 tank is increased by 30%,and the area is increased by nearly 1000 square meters,which is equivalent to lifting the"Big Mac"with the area of 940 tons and the weight of the football field from the ground to the air.
Due to many technical difficulties such as large span,long tank diameter,low horizontal stiffness,and complex natural vibration mode of tank structure,only South Korea and Japan have more than 220000m3 LNG tank construction experience in the world.Zhang Chao,head of CNOOC's LNG tank design team,said that in the design and construction of 220000m3 LNG tanks,CNOOC has successfully solved the design problems of large-scale tanks such as large-span structural stability and seismic design,and has become one of the few international designers and builders mastering the core technology of LNG tanks.In order to realize the independent development of tank design and construction technology,CNOOC established a technical team in 2009 to start the research on LNG tank technology.Through technological innovation,we have successively completed the design and construction of Tianjin LNG 30000 m3 LNG tanks,Fujian LNG,Zhejiang LNG and other 160000 m3 LNG tanks,realizing the historical breakthrough of China's independent technology of LNG tanks from scratch,and becoming one of the few countries in the world that can carry out the design and construction of large LNG tanks.
The successful lifting of the 220000 m3 LNG tank in Jiangsu Province has opened the prelude to the construction of China's super-large LNG tank,making the super-large tank the main force in the construction of China's LNG storage base.As the key project of the construction of the national natural gas production,supply,storage and marketing system and the LNG reserve base with the operation capacity of 10 million tons arranged by CNOOC in East China,the Jiangsu LNG project was commenced in May 2019 and is expected to be put into operation in 2022.After completion,Jiangsu LNG Project will become the largest LNG reserve base in China,greatly improving China's natural gas emergency peak shaving capacity.The clean energy continuously supplied to the provinces and cities in eastern and central China through pipelines,tank tanks,tank cars,tank boats and other means can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 75 million tons per year,equivalent to 20 million trees planted annually,providing more green clean energy for accelerating China's energy transformation and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and helping to build a beautiful China.
Wang Dongjin,Chairman of CNOOC,said that the successful lifting of the top of Jiangsu LNG 220000m3 tank was an important achievement of CNOOC's implementation of the concept of green development.CNOOC will take this opportunity to actively carry out the research and development of the core technology of the super-large LNG full-capacity tank,further promote the design and construction of the world's largest LNG tank with a capacity of 270000 cubic meters,and provide a strong guarantee for accelerating the construction of China's natural gas production,supply,storage and marketing system and energy structure transformation.
